What is Engineering Fest? | ¿Qué es el Festival de Ingeniería? 

Engineering Fest is the Chicago Architecture Center’s premier family event, where young people are invited to imagine and design the worlds they want, need and deserve. Join for hands-on activities that explore Sustainable Engineering! 

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, visit between 10am and 2pm to build and learn, explore the Willis Tower, meet engineers, and learn how architecture and engineering partner to create sustainable cities.

El Festival de Ingeniería es el principal evento familiar del Chicago Architecture Center, en el que se invita a los jóvenes a imaginar y diseñar los mundos que desean, necesitan y merecen. ¡Únete para participar en actividades prácticas en las que exploramos la Ingeniería Sostenible!

El sábado 22 de febrero de 2025, desde las 10 am hasta las 2 pm, para construir y aprender, recorrer la Torre Willis, conocer ingenieros y aprender cómo la arquitectura y la ingeniería se unen para crear ciudades sostenibles.

Who is this event for? | ¿Para quién es este evento? 

Activities are geared toward youth ages 8-12, but the whole family is welcome to join!  

Groups of youth from other organizations are welcome to attend with chaperones. 

Las actividades están pensadas para jóvenes entre los 8 y 12 años, ¡pero invitamos a toda la familia a que nos acompañe! Grupos de jóvenes de otras organizaciones también pueden asistir con acompañantes adultos.  

What will I learn? | ¿Qué aprenderé?

Engineering Fest 2025 is all about Sustainable Engineering! How is Chicago’s unique architecture responding to evolving climate needs? What can we learn from past engineering innovation? How can we design a more sustainable future for all?   

Expect all the following, and more! 

• Hands-on activities — Design, build and test engineering solutions at drop-in stations 
• Interactions with professionals — Learn about education and career pathways from activity facilitators working in engineering and related fields 
• Walking tours — Deepen understandings of sustainable engineering with CAC’s expert Education Guides 
• Exposure to further CAC Learning offerings  
• Free passes to visit the Chicago Architecture Center, with brief survey completion 

El Festival de Ingeniería de 2025 gira en torno a la Ingeniería Sostenible! ¿Cómo responde la singular arquitectura de Chicago a la evolución de las necesidades climáticas? ¿Qué podemos aprender de las innovaciones en ingeniería del pasado? ¿Cómo podemos planificar un futuro más sostenible para todos? 

¡Espera todo eso y mucho más! 

• Actividades prácticas — Diseña, construye y prueba soluciones de ingeniería en estaciones de participación libre. 
• Interacciones con profesionales — Aprende sobre la educación y las carreras profesionales con los facilitadores de las actividades que trabajan en ingeniería y campos afines. 
• Recorridos a pie — Profundiza tu conocimiento de la ingeniería sostenible con los guías educativos expertos del CAC. 
• Exposición a más ofertas educativas del CAC.
