Educator Advisory Committee

As an organization that inspires people to discover why design matters, the CAC supports educators to use the built environment as a tool for meaningful learning, across grade levels and subject areas. 

APPLY FOR THE COMMITTEE:

The Chicago Architecture Center is seeking applicants for the next cohort of the Educator Advisory Committee. Educators across the spectrum of Pre-K-12 grade levels and content areas are encouraged to apply.  

Member requirements:

• Pre-K-12 teaching experience.
• Will be working in a Chicago-area school or classroom during the 25-26 school year.
• Participation at in-person professional learning sessions:

1. July 28-30
2. Three Saturdays (one each in fall, winter and spring) 

• Visit the CAC for a field trip or program 
• Provide feedback on CAC programs and resources 
• Serve as an ambassador for CAC programs at school  
• Implement architecture and design learning in a school or classroom and share outcomes 

CAC Provides to Members:

• CAC individual membership – benefits include free and discounted walking tours, Open House Chicago Priority Access Pass, store discount, and more 
• One free CAC field trip, with bus reimbursement 
• Stipend of up to $900  
• Opportunities to build skills in architecture and design learning 

APPLY HERE, priority deadline for applicants is June 2. After applications are submitted, CAC Learning staff will reach out to communicate next steps.  

The Chicago Architecture Center is proud to be an approved professional development provider with the Illinois State Board of Education. Participation with the Educator Advisory Committee qualifies for required professional learning toward license renewal.
