As an organization that inspires people to discover why design matters, the CAC supports educators to use the built environment as a tool for meaningful learning, across grade levels and subject areas.

The CAC is seeking applicants for a new opportunity to help shape students' and educators' experiences with the CAC. The ideal group of educators will represent the spectrum of K-12 grade levels and subjects.
Applicant requirements:
- Formal K-12 teaching experience; expertise in Chicago history, civics, architecture, design, engineering is a plus
- Participation in CAC Learning projects, including:
- Summer professional learning (July 22-26, 2024) - stipend provided
- Curriculum and program review
- CAC field trip – bring a class and provide feedback
- Serve as an ambassador for the CAC within school communities
- Attend quarterly committee sessions each year at the CAC (Fall, Winter, Spring)
EAC memberS will EACH receive:
- CAC individual membership – benefits include free and discounted walking tours, Open House Chicago Priority Access Pass, store discount, and more
- One free CAC workshop or walking tour for your classroom, with bus reimbursement
- $500 stipend for participation in summer professional learning (required input toward CAC curriculum, evaluation activities)
- Opportunities to grow professional skills and content knowledge

The Chicago Architecture Center is proud to be an approved professional development provider with the Illinois State Board of Education. Participation with the Educator Advisory Committee qualifies for required professional learning toward license renewal.
