ReCovered: Lawndale’s Urban Tree Canopy

In this pop-up exhibition located in Lawndale, visitors will discover the magical role that trees play in our city through a reimagining of an exhibition that was on display at the CAC in 2023. ReCovered explores the impact of trees—-from quality of life to quality of air—-on the urban dweller’s experience. Guests will learn about tree planting initiatives throughout Chicago, and specifically on improving tree coverage in the Lawndale community, as well as trees native to the local area. The ReCovered exhibition is co-curated by Ryan Gann.
