John Schneider
Board of Trustees, Docent Council President
John is a former executive currently focused on giving his time and energy to lead the Chicago Architecture Center's nationally-recognized, self-governing corps of over 300 volunteer docents, who create and guide its tours. He was most recently Managing Director at Accenture, a global consulting firm. There he gained experience managing large project teams focusing on business improvement and technology solutions primarily in the retail, consumer goods and communications industries.
John was trained as a docent in the Class of 2017. He got his start at CAC as an exhibit host and now gives the River Cruise and five other walking, building and neighborhood tours. He has served on Docent Council for the past five years and is involved in the marketing and tour committees and several task forces. John is proud to continue the tradition of mentoring and coaching other docents. He looks forward to collaborating with CAC staff and trustees to continue to innovate our tour offerings.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School and an BA in Economics from Northwestern University. Architecture and design were some of John's earliest passions, so he is pleased to be able to share his love of Chicago's built environment with guests from all over the world.
