My favorite part of the design process is when a project starts to gather momentum when you look around the studio and realize that what seemed totally fractured and provisional a few days ago is starting to have a unique character and logic. Things begin to take on lives of their own and we’re just shepherding them into existence.

My favorite part of the design process is taking a very simple memory and seeing it through to a printed image. From creating the working drawing, to hand cutting color separations, to ink mixing and printing, I enjoy every step.

My favorite part of the design process is finding an interesting balance between planning and fortuity. Through material study and experimentation, I invent processes that relinquish some control and allow for some amount of serendipity.
