Before United, Bob was Deputy Mayor of Chicago, where he implemented key priorities under Mayor Rahm Emanuel, focusing on economic development, job creation and infrastructure. Previously, Bob served as Deputy General Counsel for Delta Air Lines, handling governmental regulation, litigation, and antitrust issues. He was also General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Transportation, following his nomination by President Obama and unanimous Senate confirmation. His earlier roles include Deputy General Counsel of Aon Corporation and General Counsel of the Chicago Transit Authority.
A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College, Bob earned his JD from Stanford Law School. He serves on several boards, including the Stanford Law School Board of Visitors, the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and the Chicago Architecture Center. Bob is married to Cindy Moelis, President of the Pritzker Traubert Foundation, and they have three grown children.
