Fountain at the east end of Midway Park, 5701 W Midway Park

Visit Austin’s historic Midway Park and surrounding streets with their late 19th and early 20th century houses, schools and storefronts, with works by prominent local architects including Frederick Schock, William Drummond and Dwight Perkins. Hear from Austin community members about their ongoing work to revitalize this vibrant neighborhood after years of discriminatory housing policies, disinvestment and other challenges.

  • Essential walking tours depart from the center at 111 East Wacker; they are free for all CAC members. Premier walking tours depart from other locations across Chicago, including neighborhood tours. Premier tours are discounted for individual, dual and family memberships and free for Deco level and above.
